Descriptive Text
Descriptive text is the text that explains something from where the objects being described

Social Function of Descriptive Text
To describe a particular person, place or thing

Language Feature of Descriptive Text
Using linking verb pr verb of sense ; look, smell, taste, see
Using three parameter of sense; visual, auditory
Using spatial order in which preposition preceds the verb and the subjects
Using multiple tense base on the time; present, past, future

Generic Structure of Descriptive Text
Identification: it is the part of introducing the person or thing
Description: it is the part of giving the details of the think or person

Example of Descriptive Text
Tiger

Identification: We can see tiger in the forest and in the zoo. Tiger is meat eaters. Tiger known as the largest tiger cat.

Description: Tiger weighs between 180 and 320 kg. Length between 2.6 and 3.3 meters. Tigers are recognized by their orange, black , and white stripe pattern. A tiger’s front paws are large and strong to bring down prey. The front paws of a tiger have five toes each. Tigers are famous for their thick, orange-tawny coats, gleaming amber-gold eyes, black to rich brown stripes, and long, whip-like tail.
